NStar is developing a number of initiatives that will encourage the development of a dynamic informal (angel) investment market in the North East, working with a range of different organisations, both in the Region and beyond. Experience from other parts of the world has shown that a buoyant informal investment community can make a critical difference to the success of expanding businesses.

Beer and Partners
NStar acts as the NE representative for Beer and Partners, a leading source of venture capital and business angel investment for growing SME businesses throughout the UK.
Beer & Partners has a network of over 1300 private investors across the UK.
The NStar/Beer collaboration will help businesses in the North East to access this network and will increase the options already available to regional companies seeking further growth finance. It is particularly aiming to assist firms who are moving out of the concept stage and looking for their first few hundred thousand pounds of investment.
